Where is the origin and location of Sunaka Jewelry?

Sunaka Jewelry is a Bali jewelry manufacturer based in Celuk Village, a center of silver and gold craftsmanship in Bali, Indonesia. We are proud to say that our products are made in Indonesia.

When was Sunaka Jewelry established?

This Bali jewelry manufacturer business was established in 1979 in Bali, but we have many years of experience prior to that time.

Does Sunaka Jewelry have offline store?

Yes, we have one main workshop which is located in Jalan Jagaraga No. 28B, Celuk, Sukawati, Bali.

We also have 4 outlets in:

  1. Beachwalk Shopping Mall Level 3 in Kuta, Bali.
  2. Sri Ratih Café & Jewelry in Ubud, Bali.

What is 925 Sterling Silver?

Sterling silver is an alloy of silver, containing 92.5% of silver and 7.5% of other metals. Since pure silver (99.9%) might be too soft for producing functional objects, then it needs to be alloyed with other metals, such as copper, germanium, zinc, or platinum, to preserve the ductility and appearance of precious metal. Besides, these other metals are also used to improve various properties of the basic sterling alloy, such as, by reducing casting porosity, eliminating firescale, and increasing resistance to tarnish. Sterling silver standard has a minimum millesimal fineness of 925 or 92.5% pure silver (925 parts per thousand parts).

Why can silver be tarnished?

As explained above, sterling silver consists of 92.5% of silver and 7.5% of other metals. The other metals, particularly copper, can make sterling silver to tarnish when exposed to air. Copper reacts with moisture and sulfur in the air, so silver tarnishes faster in areas with high humidity and air pollution. Chemicals, such as hairspray, perfume, deodorant, body lotion, bleach, etc., can speed up the tarnishing process.

How to prevent the silver tarnishing?

Clean it after taking off the jewelry with dry and soft cloth, or polishing cloth, and put it into an airtight container, such as zip lock bag, Tupperware, etc.

How thick is the layer of plating?

The thickness of the plating is measured in microns (1 micron = 39.37 microinches = one millionth of a meter). For better comparison, a dime is 1250 microns in thickness, while a dollar bill is roughly 200 microns in thickness.

However, the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regulates the thickness of different types of plating. The thick, heavy gold plate jewelry must be 2.5 microns in thickness, according to FTC regulations.

How to care for gold plated jewelry?

There are some ways to care for the gold plated jewelry:

  1. Do not bump or scratch it against various surfaces as the plating can scratch. It is better to take them off if you are going to require excessive activities using your hands wearing jewelry.
  2. Gold plated jewelry is sensitive to high temperatures or grease. If you are going to spend most of the time outdoors in the summer, or doing anything that will make you sweat, make sure to not wear the jewelry.
  3. Do not use any chemicals to clean it, such as hairspray, perfume, deodorant, body lotion, bleach, or even a toothpaste.
  4. Use only warm water and a soft cotton cloth – with just a miniscule amount of liquid soap – if you must clean your gold plated jewelry. Limit the exposure to water.
  5. Make sure to store the gold plated jewelry in a velvet or silk pouch inside a type of box designed specifically for jewelry, not in something made of oak or even cardboard boxes which are often treated with sulfur, which will release fumes that can tarnish and damage the jewelry over time.
What material is used by Sunaka Jewelry?

Sunaka Jewelry, as a Bali jewelry manufacturer, is using only 92.5% pure silver, plated with gold 22ct for yellow gold, and 18ct for the white gold. The difference in color between yellow and white gold is determined by the metal components used in the alloy mix, but they both is measured in the same way. So, for example, an 22ct yellow gold contains 91% of pure gold, and 18ct white gold contains 75% of pure gold.

Will Sunaka Jewelry provide the certificate for every product?

Since the material used is pure silver, not pure gold, we do not provide any certificate for customers

Can I resell the jewelry I bought to Sunaka Jewelry?

No.

Can I order the Pre-Order products?

Yes, but the availability is subject to the date specified in the product description on the website.

What is a custom order?

Custom order is an order based on the customer’s own design. You can contact us to discuss your design.

Is there any minimum order?

Yes, you can email us at sales@sunakajewelry.com to discuss the details. Please also let us know the custom order design, the quantity order, and the budget.

What products can be made as a custom order?

As an experienced and skillfull Bali jewelry manufacturer, we can make any products based on your needs, such as earrings, rings, pendants, necklaces, bracelets, subeng, hair accessories, brosch, etc.

What courier service used by Sunaka Jewelry? Is it safe?

For domestic shipping, we use JNE. While for international shipping, we use Registered Air Mail, UPS, EMS, or DHL. All shipping includes the insurance, and Sunaka Jewelry Customer Service can help you to track the shipment.

How much is the shipping cost I should pay?

For international shipping, you need to pay a flat rate of US$ 5 using economy registered air mail for courier services of Registered Air Mail, UPS, EMS, or DHL. Please allow 14-21 business days delivery time for all worldwide nations. Faster option is available through an upgrade to FedEx Express costing US$ 20, which normally takes 5-10 business days. These flat rates are applicable for one ORDER, regardless of the number of items in the cart.

For domestic shipping, we use JNE courier service to ship jewelry from Bali to all around Indonesia. It takes 1-2 working days to ship around Bali and Jakarta, and 2-5 working days to other cities. Rate depends on the type of service, see www.jne.co.id for more details. However, we provide FREE domestic shipping for order amount more than Rp.1.000.000,- (one million rupiah).

How long will I receive my order?

We will always send you the estimated delivery time on the email confirmation to customers.

What if I receive the delivery package in a broken condition?

What if I need the jewelry to arrive at the destination on the specific date I need?

For international shipping, you can choose the delivery options on the courier service we use, in this case, Registered Air Mail, UPS, EMS, or DHL. For domestic shipping, you can choose JNE service for YES or Super Speed services. However, please note that you will need to pay the (additional) rate charged by the courier services.

Is there any additional charge for service or replating?

We give 2-year-warranty without any charge for any products bought from Sunaka Jewelry, including for service or replating. To claim the warranty, let us know your full name/member ID number, so we can process your warranty. How to get the service or replating for Sunaka Jewelry products?

We can only provide service / replating for products bought from Sunaka Jewelry, and this can be done with additional charge. After you get confirmation, you can send the products that need service / replating to our workshop:

Can Sunaka Jewelry issue the refund?

No.

Can I exchange the products I bought?

Yes, as long the product to exchange is not broken or at the same condition as at the time of purchase.

 

Sunaka Jewelry provides the facility to exchange for a maximum of 7 days after purchase, with the provisions of the same price jewelry or more than the previous price. However, if you exchange it with the jewelry with a price less than the price of previous purchase, Sunaka Jewelry will keep the excess on the customer’s credit note, which can be used to purchase another product from Sunaka Jewelry. Please keep in mind that Sunaka Jewelry can not issue the refund, for any reason.  All shipping costs for the exchange is also to be borne by the customers.
