Yes, who can deny that child marriage is one of fundamental problem in Indonesia? The rate of early marriage in Indonesia has reach 28%. It states high rate on child’s rights that being violated. Lack of education, tradition, poverty, culture have assured girls to be a bride and force them to be ready to enter an early stage of marriage.
Sunaka Jewelry wanted to break not only wall, but barriers. Together with Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik under the foundation of Save the Children we raise money to prevent this poor circle to roll over and over again. We got a huge help from Teruna Teruni Bali who uttered their support on this issue. As young generation, Pande Maheni, Krisna Satria, Cahaya Devira, and Andrea Surya, believe that children have a right to dream and with immature age they shouldn’t left up their dreams because of an early marriage.
Also as an action tribute to R. A. Kartini, one of Indonesian actor who fight for women’s emancipation, last April, our customers and donators, donated 10% of their total purchasing amount on Sunaka Jewelry collection to help Yayasan Sayangi Tunas Cilik socialized and develop program in order to prevent child marriage in Indonesia. From campaign acted, we have successfully raised IDR 37,971,111. And for that, we thank every customers and donators for their help on this campaign.
